Services

On Sundays:

8.30 am:   A service of Holy Communion lasting about 45 minutes.  At this service there are no hymns and a shortened talk.  A quiet and reflective service.

10.00 am:  Our main service of Parish Communion lasting about 75 minutes, followed by an open invitation to join us for tea or coffee in the Mellor Centre.  We have a strong choral tradition at St. Thomas’ and at this service you would normally expect four hymns and other sung elements.

Children are always welcome for this service.  They are welcome to stay in church the whole time, but there is also a place for toddlers to have a bit more freedom in the Lady Chapel, and primary-aged children  (the Vestry Venturers) go out just before the Bible readings and then come back in just before the communion part of the service. 

6.30 pm:  Evening Prayer, lasting about 30 minutes.  A quiet, said service to end the day in the Mellor Centre.

In addition, we hold a Choral Evensong in church once a month (except during the holidays) – see the calendar for dates.

If you are coming to St. Thomas’ for the first time, just tell one of the stewards (who will be handing out the service books) that you are new.

Wednesday ; 10.00am Holy Communion Service in the Mellor Centre.
